KUALA LUMPUR, 30 AUGUST 2019 –The OIC International Business Centre, incollaboration with the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) in Morocco, a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Saudi Arabia, announced that they have completed all the preparations for the awaited 9th Muslim World Business and Investment Zone, which will take place from 4-6 September 2019 a Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia.

The fundamental goal of the Muslim World Biz is to provide an avenue for businesses from various industries across the world to connect and to identify the possible methods of cooperation for mutual benefits.
To accomplish this mission, the Muslim World Biz brings together policymakers, economists, chief executives, entrepreneurs, academicians and business professionals to deliberate a number of contemporary issues in order to identify the available opportunities and predict the possible challenges before formulating strategies to exploit the first and overcome the latter. As a comprehensive business and investment platform, the Muslim World Biz consists of multisectoral trade exhibition, specialised conferences and prestigious award ceremonies.
Every year, thousands of visitors fill the exhibition zone where hundreds of exhibitors showcase products and services from various industries including trade and investment, banking and finance, food and beverages, tourism, education, healthcare, property development, lifestyle and cosmetics and textile. The conference zone comprises a number of forums and summits, each of which is dedicated to reviewing the latest updates and presenting new action plans to develop a certain industry. The award ceremonies honour the contributions of male and female leaders not only to the Islamic economy but also towards humanity at large.
The Chairman of the Muslim World Biz, Mr Muhammed Raja Talib Bin Dato’ Dr Raja Mohamad Abdullah, emphasised the importance of introducing new activities every year to respond to the changing business environment. “We need to be well-aware of all the factors that affect business operations directly or indirectly so that we could prepare our strategies to make efficient use of every possible opportunity,” he said. The Jewels of the Muslim World Award is presented in a special ceremony during the Opening Ceremony of the Muslim World Biz. The award was introduced in 2011 and since then 59 leaders from various industries across the Muslim world have been awarded. This year, the Jewels of the Muslim World Award will be presented on 5 September at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Dr Laila Rani Binti Dato’ Dr Raja Mohamad Abdullah, Chairman of the Muslim World Rania Award, stressed the importance of empowering women and enhancing their participation in the business environment. “The Muslim World Women’s Summit is a 2- day programme that is designed to have serious discussions on how to increase the scale and efficiency of women’s role in developing businesses,” she said. Dr Laila also confirmed the attendance of high-level women delegations various OIC countries.
Every year, participants from more than 30 countries take part in the various activities of the Muslim World Biz. The Director-General of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade, H.E. Dr El Hassane Hzaine pointed out that the Muslim World Biz is one of the important events which contribute to the “OIC-2025 Programme of Action” which aims to increase intra-OIC trade to 25% of the total OIC trade. He confirmed the attendance of a high-level delegation from Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture and the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit.
