Action For Humanity Partners With Gateway Halal Incorp

Action For Humanity, an international Humanitarian Charity Takes On A Kickstart Trainee

Manchester based Halal Incorp  (HI) is a National Gateway provider for the £2billion Kickstart scheme which was introduced by the UK government last year.

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.

HI has worked with over a dozen companies around the country helping companies secure trainee placements. Amongst these companies is a charity based a few miles outside of Manchester City Centre called Action For Humanity.

Action For Humanity:

“We are Action For Humanity. We provide aid and assistance to people affected by natural and man-made disasters. As an NGO we are guided by our drive to help others, not profit. When emergencies strike, we act to ensure to save lives and protect the vulnerable. When the emergency is over, we stay and help restore lives.

We were founded in 2011 in the UK by a group of doctors whose sole focus was to provide assistance and aid to those devastated by conflict. For over a decade we have built an expertise in responding to humanitarian needs to benefit the most vulnerable people affected by conflict, disasters and extreme poverty.”

Hi has helped the charity who previously had a turnover of £17million, secure multiple placements and one of the new trainees recently took up her role in the HR department.

Maryam Sheikh in Human Resources, said “Majid and his team have been a great help, we couldn’t have applied to the scheme without their support. Being unable to provide training or formal qualifications initially presented a challenge for us and became a barrier to us applying – however, with the help offered through Halal incorp, we managed to secure a place on this scheme which has been a great benefit to the charity, and the young people who we have taken on.”

Halal Incorp Director Maj Hussain said:

“We are extremely pleased with supporting an amazing international humanitarian charity like Action For Humanity. We are excited to see such an important organisation providing young people with opportunities to enhance and build their personal and professional skills in the workplace”.

Employers of all sizes can apply for the Kickstart Scheme funding which covers:

1]100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours a week for a total of 6 months.

2] Associated employer National Insurance contributions.

3] Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

4] Grant funding of up to £1500 per person depending on what type of employability services provided.
