Are Eggs Halal?
Edited By Staff Writer, Halal Incorp
Yes, eggs are typically seen as Halal, which means ok to consume under Islamic dietary principles. Eggs obtained from Halal animals, for example chickens, ducks & other birds that are lawful to eat in Islam, are allowed to eat.
Most frequently consumed eggs, like chicken ones, are Halal and must not be mixed with any Haram (forbidden) elements during processing or prep.

In their natural form, they do not have any components that would deem them to be Haram. However, careful consideration should be undertaken when eating processed or packaged egg items, for example liquid eggs, powdered eggs & foods which contain eggs as a component.
This could include additives, preservatives, or other elements obtained from non-Halal sources, so looking at labels or Halal certification is preferred.

Eggs obtained from Haram animals like birds of prey or animals that are not permissible to eat in the Islamic faith are not considered Halal.
Also, if eggs are fertilized & have developed embryos, they may be considered Haram by some scholars, depending on the stage of development.
Therefore to conclude, plain eggs from Halal animals are Halal & ok for Muslims to eat.
