October 16, 2017 – The premiere Xi’an International Food & Trade Halal Expo (XIHE) 2017, an international exhibition for halal products, is set to be held at the Xi’an Greenland Pico International Convention & Exhibition Center in Xi’an, China from 26 -28 October 2017.
XIHE 2017 aims to be a distinctive channel for regional and international halal F&B producers, suppliers, importers and distributors to penetrate the vast China market. The three-day event will be open to trade visitors on the first two days and public visitors on the last day.
The event’s main highlight is an international conference that will feature prominent figures in the halal industry from various countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Dubai, and will run on the theme “Exploring Halal Food & Trade in Asia”. Amongst them would be Dato’ Dr. Sirajuddin Bin Suhaimee, Director of Malaysia’s JAKIM’s Halal Hub Division, Senator Tan Sri Haji Mohd Rustam, President of Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI) and Former Chief Minister of Malacca, as well as Ustaz Mohamad Hasbi bin Hassan, Chairman of Pergas Investments Holding Pte Ltd of Singapore.
The conference will commence with topics on the halal food and trade Industry in Asia, covered by prominent halal industry leaders and veterans from ASEAN, Dubai and China. They will be imparting knowledge on import and export procedures and safety standards for halal food and products, halal certification requirements, as well as
discussing issues, trends and challenges on the global halal industry at length. Another highlight would be a MOU Signing Ceremony between Pure&Good Holdings and DMDI’s global Halal Trade Offices to be followed by a networking reception. In addition, the exhibition would feature a Buying Center and Trade Discussion area
where local buyers could gain access and priority to exclusive distributorship rights from ASEAN, South African and local exhibitors. There would also be a product display showcase where visitors could peruse a wide array of specially curated halal products from around the world.
The last day of XIHE 2017 would be open to the public. The organisers have chosen to hold XIHE 2017 in Xi’an as it is a major tourist destination with an average yearly growth rate of over 30 percent. Many international
5-star hotels have established their presence in the city, and offering menus using imported food products.
Located in North West China, Xi’an is connected to other Muslims residing in Xinjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia and Liaoning. In addition, the One Belt One Road (OBOR) stretches from Xi’an through the Muslim-majority Middle East.
