“We walked from Covent Garden lured by the promise of tasty, reasonably priced steak, alas all we found was a long queue and friendly security who said we’d need to wait an hour or so. We carried on walking to Waitrose, bought two fillet steaks and got the train home. You can’t book ahead so I guess we’ll take a chance another time.”

“Muhammed A and Muhammed the manager at the bar truly made my experience at Swiss Butter unforgettable. From the moment I walked in, their kindness and attentiveness stood out — some of the best customer service I’ve ever received!
I had the halal beef steak, and wow— it was so soft, perfectly cooked, and super filling with the bread, chips and salad that it comes with. Paired it with a refreshing rose lemonade that complemented the meal beautifully.
Everything from the food to the service was 10/10. I’ll definitely be coming back for the amazing food and lovelies customer service .

“I can not understand for the life of me, why this place gets so busy!!!!
We waited an hour long to get into the store, and I was hoping the food was out of this world.
The menu is very small, just a few items per category, so I’m assuming the food is pre-cooked, so they move tables faster.
We ordered beef fillets, and it was served quickly.
The beef was well served, but i did not enjoy the flavour/spices.
It was very Indian style, which i don’t fancy.
If they offered peri peri, I’m sure I would have enjoyed it.
The tables we were seated at was very uncomfortable and quite messy.
Some tables are also on top of each making it very cramped.
The washroom with toilets was mixed between males and females, with dedicated male and female toilets.
The male toilets were very badly maintained and unhygienic.
What a poor experience it was.

“1 star because they told me to wait 1 hour and as I proceeded to wait 1 hour they told me they another 1 hour so I waited another 1 hour and when I called them for the last time they told me they open at 6pm, when they could’ve told me that from the start. I don’t live here and it’s absolutely ridiculous and the person ended the phone on my face.

“The food at Swiss Butter is phenomenal. The wagyu burger was juicy and packed with flavor, and the filet was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
Unfortunately, the experience was soured a bit when a staff member rudely told me not to order the bun next time simply because I didn’t eat it. I wasn’t expecting commentary on how I chose to enjoy my meal, especially when everything else was so well done. A little more grace would’ve gone a long way.
That said, the kitchen absolutely delivered, and I’d still recommend Swiss Butter to anyone looking for a quality meal in London—just maybe skip the bun if you’re not 100% committed to it.

“Very delicious food. We went there twice during our London vacation. However, it’s definitely recommended to avoid the evening hours! Lines can last up to an hour!
Lunchtime is much quieter, or very late in the evening after 10 p.m.

“It’s always great to come back to Swiss Butter in London. No bookings only walk in. The menu is short but the portions are big. Delicious food, friendly staff, quick service and good value for money. Leave some space for dessert they are so good. I really recommend it to my family and friends. See you soon!
