Is Tango On The Boycott List?

Opinion:

As buyers are now becoming more socially & environmentally aware, some are now considering boycott lists to make sure their purchases adhere to their core values.

One question that Muslims are asking in recent times is whether Tango, the well known soft drink brand, is on any kind of boycott list.

As of now, Tango is not prominently included on any mainstream global boycott lists. It is not currently on the BDS list either.

The company, is actually owned by Britvic, a UK-based soft drink entity, & it has not been associated with any core controversies involving labour rights, environmental abuse, or political issues that typically spark widespread boycotts ie Gaza/Palestine.

Moreover, it’s crucial to understand that Britvic as a parent company has come under the spotlight previously for its use of plastics as well as packaging waste.

While the brand made some efforts to enhance sustainability such as using more recycled materials, some environmental lobby organisations continue to call for more intense actions on beverage companies holistically.

Boycott campaigns can also be local. Certain regional actions might include Tango if they are targeting wider issues within the soft drink industry, such as sugar content, marketing to children, as well as health concerns. However, in regards to global or generally recognised political or ethical boycotts, Tango currently remains off the main campaign trail.
