Since 2020 Halal Incorp (HI) Consultants have been working on the £2Billion UK Gov Kickstart Scheme as a Gateway as well as an employer. HI has recruited a young person called Zain who has been working as a Digital Trainee learning a whole range of skills to help improve his employability.

“Hi my name is Zain I am 24 years old and a recent graduate in BA economics from Manchester Metropolitan University. I am from South Manchester and have lived here my whole life.
Since graduating I have been on Universal Credit working closely with my work coach at the job centre to get me employed. I was struggling to find work until the kick start scheme emerged which I knew would be a great opportunity after being informed about it.
I managed to get employed with Halal Incorp through the Kickstart Scheme and I am so happy with the outcome thus far. The team at Halal Incorp are very integrated as we have regular team meetings which allowed me to settle in quickly.
I have been developing various skills such as communication, team work, marketing techniques due to daily zoom meetings with the Director who is always training and helping me learn. I’m really enjoying the progression I’m experiencing in Halal Incorp and want to keep on improving to become better.”

1] What is the UK government Kickstart Scheme?
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.
2] Who can apply?
Employers of all sizes can apply for funding
3] What does the funding cover?
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months
- associated employer National Insurance contributions
- employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
- Up to £1500 grant per placement depending on wrap around and employability support provided.
