Next April, Barcelona will become the world capital of the food sector, where the Halal industry will play a leading role.
Among the activities planned, there is the celebration of the International Halal Congress, which will discuss the current situation of the sector and its influence on Muslim and non-Muslim consumers.
In this congress as an inaugural lecturer will participate Mr. Anwar El Megwazhi, the Chairman and Founder of Expo Halal Spain.
Mr. El Megwazhi is highly experienced in international project execution between the Arabic and muslim countries, international organizations, and european market, achieving market share growth and improve profitability. His company, Ambar connect, manage and organize halal conferences, workshops and exhibitions worldwide as Expohalal Portugal and Egypt.
He will speak about the halal sector from a global point of view, discussing about the facts and the trend of this sector. The conference will take place on April 18th at 10:30 in Fira Barcelona (Hall 3).
According to Mr. Megwazhi: “Consumption in this segment is constantly growing worldwide, and consumers demand more sophisticated and diversified products. The implications of the Halal certificate have evolved, becoming a guarantee of quality and health, thus attracting the interest of non-Muslim conscious consumers as well.”
“The Halal industry has a market share of 16% of the total food industry worldwide. With a population of more than 44 million Muslims, Europe has become an important market for manufacturers and producers of the Halal sector. Due in part to the high purchasing power of this community, the European Halal industry is valued at some 70,000 million dollars.” Mr. Mewgazhi explained.
In this International Congress there will also be space to talk about innovation, modernization of suppliers, growth of halal certifications and the benefits of the halal diet, among others.
